Bret E. Gossett

Bret E. Gossett is a Senior Vice President – Head of Leasing in the San Diego region for Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. Mr. Gossett brings over 30 years of experience to his role at Alexandria, where he is principally responsible for oversight of the leasing team managing Alexandria’s 8.6 million rentable square foot San Diego portfolio, which encompasses more than 93 properties and approximately 123 tenants. Mr. Gossett previously played an integral role with Alexandria’s international asset strategy in India before the company sold its buildings and land in that region. Prior to joining Alexandria, Mr. Gossett was with Veralliance Properties, which he joined in 2006 as a Principal and where he was actively involved in every facet of the business, including acquisitions/dispositions, land entitlement, and ground-up development. Alexandria acquired Veralliance Properties in 2010. Before Veralliance Properties, Mr. Gossett spent over 18 years at CBRE, where he was consistently recognized as a top performer at the company and earned various accolades, including rookie of the year, a top 10 performer for his last eight consecutive years of employment, and a leader of the “Team of the Year.” His depth of experience at the time reached into the realm of almost every aspect of commercial real estate, including national and local tenant representation, major business park repositioning, numerous pre-leasing assignments, and over 14 million square feet of space exclusively listed for lease, in addition to numerous noteworthy investment transactions. Mr. Gossett received his Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
