David Osias, JD, is a Partner, Immediate Past Managing Partner, at Allen Matkins, which ranks among the nation's largest 200 law firms. Allen Matkins has one of the largest real estate practices in the Western United States, handling high-profile transactions and disputes in key commercial real estate market sectors: office, industrial, retail, residential, healthcare, and hospitality. The real estate industry and other industries rely on Allen Matkins for its expertise in construction, land use, environmental and natural resources, corporate, finance, insolvency restructurings and creditor's rights, joint ventures, tax, and labor and employment matters.
In his CEO-level role of Managing Partner, David chairs the Management Committee, Compensation Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee. He also oversees all of the firm's daily and long-term operations including strategic growth, client retention, business development, and community outreach.
David's legal practice is focused on two distinct areas: Water Resources and Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights. He is a senior member of the Firm's Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group and has substantial experience in a variety of water rights, water supply, and water resources matters. David has appeared before state and federal courts as well as the California State Water Resources Control Board, and numerous local public agencies. Additionally, David has handled significant matters involving the Colorado River, groundwater adjudications, and agriculture to urban water transfers, having provided counsel on some of the largest and most complex water rights issues in California.
He is also the senior member of the Firm's Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Practice Group, and is widely recognized as an authority on creditor and debtor rights in out-of-court workouts and restructurings, federal and state court receiverships, and reorganization and liquidation bankruptcy proceedings. David has been named the San Diego Litigation-Bankruptcy "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers.
