As Project Executive with Clark Construction, Chris Carl oversees development, construction, and delivery for commercial construction projects. Clark Construction is one of the largest building and infrastructure companies in the United States, with a portfolio that spans every major building market, from public to private, corporate to cultural, education to entertainment, and the infrastructure connecting it all – power, transit, water, and roadways. With over 17 years of experience, Chris has overseen noteworthy projects in Higher Education, Government Facility, and Civic Space sectors. In partnership with UC San Diego, Chris and his team composed of sixty-five (65) full time Clark employees, dozens of designers, and over fifty (50) trade partner firms, recently delivered the $500 Million, 10 acre, 1.6 million gross square foot, North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood complex at UC San Diego. This transformational community provides a thriving environment, focused on connection, collaboration, and inspiration for the students and faculty of UC San Diego. Other noteworthy projects for Chris in the San Diego area include the San Diego Marriott Hall, the San Diego FBI Field Office, and the Village at Torrey Pines East at UC San Diego. Outside of San Diego, Chris’ projects include Glen Mor 2 student housing at UC Riverside, and the Savannah Convention Center Expansion in Savannah, Georgia. Chris is a LEED Accredited Professional, Safety Trained Supervisor (Board of Certified Safety Professionals), and Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Professional. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from UC San Diego, an Executive Business Certificate from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a Professional Certificate in Lean Enterprises from San Diego State University. Chris also serves in organizational roles within Clark Construction supporting training, development, mentorship, leadership, and business unit objectives throughout the company. Outside of Clark Construction, Chris has served in the community with the UC San Diego Structural Engineering Department, the UC San Diego Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Student Chapter, UC San Diego Triton Athlete Networking, the UC San Diego Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Las Patronas, the Associated General Contractors (AGC), San Diego Chapter, and the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC). As an alumnus of UC San Diego with a desire to advance development and building infrastructure, and an ambition for the prosperity of next generation young professionals and the local community, Chris is honored to serve on the Real Estate and Development Advisory Board.
