Space + Society

Human well-being is embedded in where and how we live and the historical contexts that shaped our settlements. These relationships of space and place must be thoughtfully examined and designed to improve the way we live together. Our faculty focus on topics such as housing and homelessness, transportation planning, spatial justice, urban design and architecture, historic preservation, real estate development, and healthy communities through coursework, research, and practice.
