Profile

Midori Wong is a Senior Development Manager based in Chicago. In her role, she manages all aspects of the development process, leading core day-to-day management and execution. Marquee Development is a full-service real estate developer specializing in mixed-use sports and entertainment districts. Born from professional sports team ownership as the real estate arm of the Ricketts family office, who are majority owners of the Chicago Cubs (MLB) and Chicago Stars (NWSL) and have ownership stakes in other pro sports teams around the world, Marquee is uniquely positioned to amplify both a team's brand and the brand of its district.

Previously, she served as Senior Development Manager, Vice President at Lendlease, overseeing the Lakeshore East mixed-use masterplan development and Chicago land asset disposition strategy. Midori relocated to Chicago from Lendlease's New York City office, where she served in a hybrid acquisitions and development role on the New York Development team. Prior to joining Lendlease, Ms. Wong’s real estate career bridged the public and private sectors in her home state of California. She served as Director of Special Projects, Facilities Planning & Construction for San Diego Unified School District overseeing the disposition and ground leasing of district-owned property, and as Chief of Staff to the City of San Diego’s independent citizens Redistricting Commission, responsible for drawing new city council district boundaries effective for the next decade. Her experience also includes project management and securing competitive Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) funding for a private firm capitalizing a national portfolio of Section 8 affordable housing projects.

Ms. Wong holds a Master of Science, Real Estate Development from MIT and a Bachelor of Arts, Phi Beta Kappa in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego. She is a member of the Chicago Real Estate Finance Forum (REFF) and a scholarship recipient of the Women Executives in New York Real Estate (WXNYRE).
