As the Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, Devaney manages departmental administrative functions including finance and budget, faculty recruitment, human resources, facilities, and staff supervision. She is also the contact for academic personnel for functions such as advancement, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, and policies and procedures.

Devaney came to the USP Department in 2022 and previously held the position of financial manager for the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from 2012 - 2022. Prior to that she worked in the fiscal, HR and student affairs areas in the Department of Economics from 1999 - 2012.

Devaney and her wife are avid sports fans and can be found frequently at Petco Park eating tri-tip nachos while cheering on the San Diego Padres. Throughout the year you may also see them at Disneyland or wine tasting in Temecula.
